Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often should the student attend sessions?
A: Most students benefit from 1–2 sessions per week for consistency. Frequency can be adjusted as skills strengthen or schedules change.
Q: How long does it take to see progress?
A: Every learner is different, but many families notice improvement in engagement and confidence within the first month. Academic and executive function growth typically becomes more visible after 6–10 sessions.
Q: Do you give homework or practice between sessions?
A: No- I believe in working hard while in a learning environment and playing hard when you aren't. If you are being seen for literacy, reading for pleasure for 20 minutes a night builds a love of reading and increases reading skills.
Q: Can you communicate with my child’s teacher or school?
A: Absolutely. With your permission, I can collaborate with teachers or special education teams to ensure consistent support across settings.
Q: What if my child has an IEP or 504 Plan?
A: That’s one of our specialties. I can review the plan, help you understand goals and accommodations, and provide strategies that align with those supports.
Q: Are sessions online or in-person?
A: In person, but online is coming soon.
Q: What ages or grade levels do you work with?
A: Services are designed for all ages.
Q: What if my child resists working with a tutor?
A: That’s common! Sessions are designed to be encouraging, not stressful. Many students come to enjoy the process once they experience early success and see that sessions are about growth, not perfection.
